2019–20 Women's Season
Record 4–2
National Place 6th, 9th
Coach Max Mejia

The 2019–20 Augsburg Women's Wrestling season was Augsburg's inaugural season and first as a member of the Women's Collegiate Wrestling Association. The team was coached by Max Mejia. The team completed the season with an 4–2 dual record, including a seventh-place finish at the NWCA Women's National Duals.

Unlike the Men's Program, which competes in the folkstyle discipline, the Women's Program competes in the freestyle discipline, which is also practiced at the international level.

Addition of Women's Program

In April 2019, Augsburg University announced the creation of a Women's Wrestling program for the 2019–20 season, led by head coach Max Mejia, a Harvard University alum.[1]

National Tournaments

Augsburg competed in both the WCWA National Championships on February 7, 2020 in Marietta, Ga., finishing 6th as a team. They then competed in the Cliff Keen/NWCA National Collegiate Women's Championships (NCAA Schools) on March 6 in Adrian, Mich. finishing 9th as a team. First-year wrestler Emily Shilson picked up titles in both tournaments in the 109-pound weight class (equivalent to the international 50 kg class).
