Donny Longendyke is a 285 pound Augsburg wrestler. Longendyke joined the Auggies in the spring 2015 semester after transferring from Div. I University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Longendyke was two-time Class AAA Minnesota State Champion at heavyweight, winning both the 2010 and 2011 titles. As a senior, he was ranked first nationally at heavyweight and later earned Nebraska's Redshirt of the Year award going 34-10 in open competition.
High School career
Longendyke wrestled for White Bear Lake (Minn.) High School and was three-time state finalist, finishing first his junior (2010) and senior (2011) years.[1]
College career
2011–12 season
Longendyke redshirted his first season at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln, compiling a 34–10 record in open competition. For his efforts, he was named Redshirt of the Year.[1]
2012–13 season
Longendyke spent part of the year as the starter at heavyweight, finishing with a 2–7 record in duals and a 6–11 record overall. The starting spot was taken by Spencer Johnson, who competed in the 2013 Big Ten Championships for Nebraska.[1]
