Jason Adams is a former 157-pound wrestler for Augsburg College. He placed second at the 2008 National Championships in the 141-pound weight class. At 157 pounds, he third in 2009 and 2010.

College Career

2008–09 season

Regionals

Adams competed for Augsburg at 157 pounds and drew the first seed and one of three first-round byes Augsburg received. In the second round, Adams earned an 8-0 major decision over Nick Parrish of Elmhurst. In the semi-finals, Adams advanced to the final with a 7-3 decision over fourth-seeded Lane Lunde of Concordia College–Moorhead. In the final, Adams defeated Jonas Flok of Lakeland via a 13-4 major decision.

Nationals

Fourth-ranked Adams competed for Augsburg at 157 pounds and earned the third seed. All 157 pound wrestlers received a bye in the first round. In the second round, Adams came from being down 6-2 to earn a 7-6 decision over Zach Mizer (Heidelberg). In the quarter-finals, Adams defeated Mike Martini (Rhode Is), 4-3. In the semi-finals, Adams faced second-seeded Jason Brew of Olivet. In the wrestleback semi-finals, Adams earned an 8-0 major decision over Dan Dicolo (TCNJ). In the third-place match, Adams defeated Luke Miller (Ohio Northern), 5-1.

2009–10 season

Adams entered the season ranked first at 157 pounds in the NCWA and the d3wrestle.com preseason rankings.[1][2] Adams will be serving as a captain for the season.[3] At the Auggie-Brute-Adidas Open on November 21, Adams went 4-0 at 157-pound gold division. In the first round, Adams pinned Luther's Ryan Bouslog at the 6:22 mark. Adams then earned a 15-0 technical fall over Wisconsin-Eau Claire's Jon Ames. He then defeated unattached wrestler Justin Decker by a 12-2 major decision before earning a 4-1 decision over Division II opponent Derek Stolarsyk (Upper Iowa).[4] On November 25, Adams edged Division II opponent Marcus Edgington (Augustana (S.D.)) in a 4-3 decision.[5]

On December 9, 2009, Adams earned a 12-6 decision over Division II opponent Tallen Wald of Minnesota State University Moorhead.[6]
