Jim Peterson

Jim Peterson is a former wrestler for Augsburg College. In 1998, he won the 167-pound NCAA Division III national title.[1]

College career

Peterson was a three-time All American for Augsburg, having placed in 1997, 1998 and 1999. In 1999, he was the MIAC champion at 174 pounds. He also had a stellar academic career, finishing as a NWCA Scholar All American in 1997 and 1998 and as a 2nd Team CoSIDA Academic All American in 1999.

Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, no NCAA National tournaments were held for the men's team in 2020 and 2021. In 2020, the National Wrestling Coaches Association named All-American teams and 8 Augsburg wrestlers were named to the first team. In 2021, the NWCA held a post-season tournament in which 5 Augsburg wrestlers placed.
