Travis Lang is a former 133-pound wrestler for Augsburg College. After transferring from Division I University of Minnesota, Lang wrestled at Augsburg for two seasons, finishing fifth at Nationals in both 2008 and 2009.

High School Career

Bismarck High School

Lang was a four-time individual state champion for the Demons of Bismarck High in Bismarck, ND. Lang captured titles in 2000, 2002–04. In 2001 Lang was a state runner-up.

In 2004 Lang was named North Dakota's Class "A" Mr. Wrestler Award Winner.

In Lang's senior season as a Demon he went 49–0, a North Dakota record. His career wins/losses total was 221-8, a record at that time for class A, but has since been passed. Lang is currently #2 all-time in North Dakota, in any class of wrestling, in all-time wins.

Lang was part of five North Dakota State Dual Championship teams. The Demons have won every dual championship since the dual tournament began, Lang was on the first five of those teams. In Lang's career the Demons also won four Individual State Tournament Titles.[2]

Top-ranked Lang competed for Augsburg at 133 pounds and earned the top seed. Lang began with the tournament with a 31-1 record. In the first round all 133-pound wrestlers received byes. In the second round, Lang faced unseeded Tony Lawler (Heidelberg), whom he beat by a 17-5 major decision. In the quarter-finals, Lang faced eighth-seeded Nichalos Northern (Cornell). In 2008, Northern defeated Lang in the quarter-finals, before Lang pinned Northern in the fifth-place match. In 2009, Northern defeated Lang via a 7-5 decision. In the third round of the wrestlebacks, Lang pinned Phillip Greene (Merch Mar) at 1:19. In the wrestleback quarter-final, Lange pinned Chad Winowich (Ithaca) at 2:29. In the semi-final, Lang fell to Brandon Ball (Coe) 7-5 in sudden victory. In the fifth-place match Lang pinned Corey Brown (Thiel) at 1:04 to repeat his fifth-place finish from 2008.

Lang's three falls came in a time of 4:52.
