Kong started the season on Nov. 23, going 1–2 in the 125 pound Silver Division at the Auggie-Brute Open. Kong opened the day with a loss by pin in 6:40 to Ryan Weinmann (Wisconsin–La Crosse), but rebounded with a pin of his own in 6:39 over Ashes Dean (Iowa Lakes CC). He finished the day with a 8–7 loss to Andrew Gorman (William Penn).[1]
