Brandon Bahr is a former upper-middleweight wrestler for Augsburg College. In his first season (2008–09), Bahr started the year at 174 pounds, then wrestled at 184 pounds for one dual meet, before he settled in as the starter at 165 pounds for much of the rest of the season.

College career

2008–09 season

Bahr made his debut for Augsburg at the Auggie-Brute-Adidas Open, where he went 2-1 for seventh place in the 174-pound gold division.[2] He made his varsity dual debut against St. John's Univerity on November 26, 2009, where he lost 6-3 to Grant Eustice.[3] On December 6, Bahr went 2-1 at the 174-pound red division, for co-third place at the MSU Moorhead Dragon Open.[4] Against Division II Southwest Minnesota State, Bahr wrestled at 184 pounds, pinning Nathan Krekelberg 44 seconds into the match.[5] At the St. Cloud State Husky Open on December 13, 2008, Bahr went 5-2, placing fifth place at 174 pounds.[6] At the Sunshine Open on December 28 and 29, Bahr went 4-2 for fourth place at 165 pounds.[7]

Bahr opened 2009 with a 2-1 performance at the Dickinson State (N.D.) Blue Hawk Classic, claiming second place at the 165 pounds.[8] He competed for Augsburg at the NCWA National Duals on January 10, winning his first match over Buena Vista's Kody Koster by technical fall (without near fall points) 15-0 at the 1:25 mark of the second period. He won the next match over Johnson and Wales.[9] The next day, he lost twice: 7-3 to Delaware Valley's Justin Barowski and then to top-ranked Justin Hanson of Wartburg by a 17-9 major decision.[10]

Bahr then lost to Division I opponent Tyler Johnson of North Dakota State University in a 9-8 decision.[11] He faced Division II opponent Galvin Nelson of Augustana (S.D.), loosing 10-6.[12] On January 30, Bahr faced Wartburg's Justin Hanson, this time loosing 14-7.[13] Bahr closed out his season at the 2009 Wisconsin-Eau Claire Invitational, where he went 1-2.[14] He finished the season with a 20-15 record. 15 of his 20 wins were by pin.

2009–10 season

Bahr begins his second season listed at 174 pounds.[15] At the Auggie-Brute-Adidas Open on November 21, Bahr went 1-2 at 174-pound gold division. In the first round, Bahr defeated William Penn's Josh Cohen by a 3-2 decision before loosing to eventual weight class champion Glenn Rhees (Grandvalley) by 14-6 major decision. In the consolation round (fifth place), Bahr lost an 11-3 decision to Matt Pfarr of St. John's University.[16]

On December 8, Bahr pinned Division II Minnesota State University Moorhead's Jacob McLean at the 1:04 mark of the second period.[17]
