Devon Bonds (FY, /Humboldt HS) -- A 2009 Class AA state champion at 130 pounds, Bonds finished 41-8 his senior season. He qualified for the state tournament three times (Class AA 125 fourth place in 2008, Class AA 112 in 2007) and finished 100-31 in his career. He was also named the Outstanding Wrestler at the 2008 Minneapolis Edison Twin Cities Championships tournament. He is ranked No. 17 at 130 pounds in the Wrestling USA Magazine 2009 Best High School Senior Wrestlers list.

Devon Bonds is a 133-pound Augsburg wrestler.

High School Career

Wrestling for Humboldt High School (St. Paul, Minn.), Bonds was a two-time state placewinner, finishing as the 130-pound Class AA state champion in 2009, having finished fourth the previous year at 125 pounds.[1] Ranked No. 17 at 130 pounds in the Wrestling USA Magazine 2009 Best High School Senior Wrestlers list, Bonds compiled a 100-31 career record while going 41-8 his senior season.[1]

Bonds entered the season mentioned as a newcomer to watch at 133 pounds in the d3wrestle.com Preseason Rankings.[2] Bonds made his debut for Augsburg at the Auggie-Brute-Adidas Open on November 21, he went 3–1 at the 133-pound, placing seventh. Bonds opened the tournament falling by pin to unattached Josh Rogers. He then beat three straight opponents—William Penn's Clark Morgan by a 19-2 technical fall, then Brian Beilke by a 10-2 major decision and finally David Crow (William Penn) 42 seconds into the second period — to claim the seventh spot.[3]
