Vigil begins the season listed at 125 pounds.[1] At the Auggie-Brute-Adidas Open on November 21, Vigil went 1-2. In the first round, Vigil lost to eventual champion Austin Mogg (Buena Vista) in a 7-0 decision. In the quarterfinals of the seventh-place consolation round, Vigil beat Cody Gable in 15-3 major decision. In the consolation semifinals, Vigil lost to William Penn's Matt Chustz, 8-6 in overtime.[2] On December 8, Vigil lost to Division II opponent Corey Ulmer of Minnesota State University Moorhead in a 12-4 major decision.[3]
