On December 11, 2013, Hamer picked up his second dual pin of the season with a 4:56 come-from-behind pin over Isaac Novacek (MSU-Moorhead).[1]
On Dec. 14, Hamer finished third at the St. Cloud State Husky Open, going 3–1. He opened the tournament with a 19–2 technical fall over Dario Gamino (Waldorf College), then stopped Evan Guffey (St. Johns University) 6–2. In the semifinal, Hamer dropped a 5–3 decision to Brian Bitney (Missouri Valley College), but rebounded in the final with a close 2–1 victory over Adam Yde (Wisconsin-Parkside).
