Nathan Lexvold

Nathan Lexvold is a former wrestler for Augsburg College. He is a 2008 graduate from Kenyon-Wanamingo High School in southeast Minnesota.

Personal life

His brothers include Mitchell, Chad, and Drew Lexvold. Drew has also won state and all of them have placed. His parents are Wayne and Donna.[1]

High school career

Lexvold wrested for Kenyon-Wanamingo High School, a class A school in southeast Minnesota. He was a four-time state entrant and in 2008 he posted a perfect record while winning the state championship at 135 pounds. His career record at Kenyon-Wanamingo was 186-47[2] with over 100 pins.

In his freshmen season Lexvold went 36-7 and placed fifth at 103 pounds. The following year he wrestled 103 again and placed 2nd with a record of 38-3. In his junior year he went 32-7 but did not place 119 pounds. His senior year featured many highlights including going undefeated at The Clash, and beating 2x state champ Joe Selly. After being knocked out of the state tournament early his junior year, he wouldn't lose again in a high school match going 41-0 and taking the championship[2] at 135 in class A.

From grades 7 to 12, Lexvold never missed a wrestling practice and was named to the The Guillotine 2008 Academic All-State First Team with a 3.49 GPA.[1] He also earned Academic All-State Honorable Mention honors in 2007. [3] His coach was Matt Ryan.[1]

College career

2008–09 season

In 2008–09, Lexvold wrestled primarily at 141 pounds. He made his varsity debut for Augsburg on February 1, 2009, losing to Division II opponent Evan Forde (Minnesota State Moorhead) 8-3.[4] He finished the season with a 16-14 record with 8 falls to his credit.[5]

2009–10 season

Saatzer began the season listed at 141 pounds.[6] At the Auggie-Brute-Adidas Open on November 21, he went 3-1 to claim the seventh spot in the 141-pound gold division. In the first round, Saatzer lost to Matt Dowell of Northwester College (Iowa) in a 6-0 decision. In the first round of the consolation bracket (seventh place), he pinned Jason Brunette (RCTC) 1:45 into the first period. He then defeated Wisconsin-La Crosse's Justin Garcia, 8-3. In the seventh-pace match, Lexvod defeated unattached wrestler Alex Dahl by fall 1:39 into the third period.[7]
