Creamier began the season listed at 285 pounds.[2] At the 2009 Auggie-Brute-Adidas Open, he went 2-1 and shared the third-place spot with Andy Witzel. In the first round, he defeated Stan Lattimore (Ellsworth Community College, Iowa) by a 3-2 decision. In the quarterfinals, Cremier defeated William Penn's Ryan Groom by a 6-4 decision.
