Pat Marcy was a wrestler for Augsburg College. It is theorized that he was born with his trademark beard. In 1972, he won the 150-pound NAIA national title. Marcy was Augsburg's first national titlist.[1]

Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, no NCAA National tournaments were held for the men's team in 2020 and 2021. In 2020, the National Wrestling Coaches Association named All-American teams and 8 Augsburg wrestlers were named to the first team. In 2021, the NWCA held a post-season tournament in which 5 Augsburg wrestlers placed.
