Tommy Teigen is a 165-pound Augsburg wrestler. He is a one-time national qualifier.
Teigen made his varsity debut on January 28, 2011, losing 6–4 to St. Olaf's Michael Roth at 157 pounds.[1] 10 days previous, he made his dual debut in a junior varsity match against Waldorf College (Iowa), winning by forfeit at 157 pounds.[2]
High School career
Teigen wrestled for Meadow Creek Christian and was a three-time state qualifier in Class AA. As a sophomore in 2008 he qualified at 130 pounds, going 0–2 and finishing the year with a 32–16.[3] As a junior in 2009, Teigen qualified at 135, again going 0–2 and finishing with a 19–7 record.[4] He placed fourth at 160 pounds as a senior in 2010, going 4–2 including a semi-final loss to eventual champion Kurtis Julson.
In both 2008 and 2009, Tiegen lost at state to Augsburg teammate Boyd Suparat, who placed first and second respectively those years.
