II) Carl Broghammer (Upper Iowa) in the final.[1] In his first dual meet match of the season on November 26, Hechsel received a forfeit victory against Waldorf (Iowa).[2]

Hechsel improved to 8–0 with a Dragon Open Red Division on Dec. 7. He use a 1:05 pin over Taylor Brown (Concordia-Moorhead) and two shutouts over Division II wrestlers to claim the 197 pound time, first a 4–decision over Tyler Schlosser (MSU - Moorhead) and then a 1–0 decision over Chris Brassell (St. Cloud State).[3]
