Zach Molitor is a former 174-pound wrestler for Augsburg College. He was the 2011 National Champion. He placed sixth at the 2009 National Championships and third in 2010.

A transfer from North Dakota State University, Molitor wrestled for Cambridge Isanti (Minn.) High School.

At state, Molitor finished fourth in 2003 at 145-lb. AAA,[2] second in 2004 at 152-lb. AAA[3] and second in 2005 at 160-lb AAA.[4]

College Career

Molitor wrestled for North Dakota State University during the 2005–06 season as the starter at 165 pounds. He compiled a 13–11 record.[5] Competing unattached during the 2006–07, he went 1–2 at 165 pounds, competing at the Bison Open on Nov. 11, 2006.[6]

In the first round, Molitor pinned William Penn's Chris Dias at the 1:32 mark of the third period. In the quarterfinals, Molitor pinned David Carter of Northwestern College (Iowa) at the 2:20 mark of the first period. In the semifinals, Molitor defeated unattached wrestler Grant Miller in a 9-5 decison. In the finals match, he lost to Grand Valley's Glenn Rhees, falling 12-9.[9] On November 25, Molitor defeated Division II opponent Carl Serck (Augustana (S.D.)) by a 7-2 decision.[10]

Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, no NCAA National tournaments were held for the men's team in 2020 and 2021. In 2020, the National Wrestling Coaches Association named All-American teams and 8 Augsburg wrestlers were named to the first team. In 2021, the NWCA held a post-season tournament in which 5 Augsburg wrestlers placed.
