Zach Moliter is a 174-pound wrestler for Augsburg College. He placed sixth at the 2009 National Championships.
College Career
2008–09 season
Regionals
Moliter competed for Augsburg at 174 pounds and earned the second seed. Moliter received Augsburg's second first-round bye. In the second round, Moliter pinned seventh-seeded Ross Dankers of Concordia College–Moorhead at 6:30. In the semi-finals, Moliter faced another MIAC opponent, this time third-seeded Grant Eustice of St John's University. Moliter defeated Eustice by a 9-1 major decision. In the final, Moliter defeated top-seeded Troy Carlson of the University of Chicago by fall at 3:45.
Nationals
Seventh-ranked Moliter competed for Augsburg at 174 pounds and earned the sixth seed. Moliter recieved a first round bye and faced Sam Engelland (UW Oshkosh) in the second round, whom he defeated 2-1. In the quarter-finals, Moliter defeated third-seeded Kyle Vanderhyde (Olivet), 8-3. Moliter lost to second-seeded Rocky Mantella (Delaware Valley), 6-4. In the wrestleback semi-finals, Moliter was pinned by Bryon Grothus (Coe) at 1:35. In the fifth-place match Moliter fell to Kyle Kehrli (Cornell) by a 4-1 finish, earning his first All-American honors.
