Stuhl started his college career at the North Dakota State University, a Division I institution.
2021–22 season
Stuhl transferred to Augsburg mid-season, taking over the starting spot at 141 pounds.
2022–23 season
Stuhl won the national title at 141 pounds.
2023–24 season
Stuhl qualified for the national tournament at 141 pounds, but fell in the Blood Round — the name given to the consolation round where the winner becomes an All-American and the loser's season is over.
Personal life
Stuhl is the older brother of Augsburg wrestler Charlie Stuhl.

Notes: 1. Shilson won 2 national titles in 2020, competing at two different national tournaments for women's college wrestlers.
Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, no NCAA National tournaments were held for the men's team in 2020 and 2021. In 2020, the National Wrestling Coaches Association named All-American teams and 8 Augsburg wrestlers were named to the first team. In 2021, the NWCA held a post-season tournament in which 5 Augsburg wrestlers placed. |
